Trip Planning? Let us help…
We’ve been to every corner of the Land of Enchantment and beyond.
For folks from ‘out east’ meaning Amarillo and east, this is not the mid-Atlantic! You can’t jam from major city to major destination – it takes time. And you’re rolling in a 31ft engineering marvel. You’ll be hard pressed to break 70mph. What I’m trying to say is don’t let your inner Clark Grizwald get the best of you and dry and pack too much in one trip.
3 Day Itinerary
Taos/Angel Fire/Red River: “Enchanted Ring.” Want to see some ridiculous fall colors? Here’s your destination. Or if you want a reprieve from NM summer heat, this destination is a winner. And, Taos? Feel like your back in 17th century Spanish times.
Durango: Our favorite Colorado town. The Animas River is right there. Fishing anyone? Then alpine sports at the ski mountain. Durango Riverside RV Resort -12miles Outta town – is fantastic, backs up right to the Animas river. And, get yourself to the best preserved cowboy town in Colorado.
White Sands: Where’s the ocean? You don’t need one. It is epic. What is this doing in NM? No idea but a park ranger tried to explain it to us once. Maybe even get yourself Carlsbad Caverns which is just an hour out from White Sands. If you do this itinerary, give us the secret handshake and well even tell you how to see where Billy the Kid was brought to justice. And, if you’re really promise to treat the RV well we’ll point you in the direction of the best green chili cheeseburger in New Mexico: the Owl Café in San Antonio, NM!
Gila Wilderness/Cliff Dwellings and Silver City: Where can you climb through Indian ruins and then luxuriate in natural hot springs In the Gila baby! (pronounced “Hee-la”) Then get yourself to Silver City to tidy up and enjoy some cowboy culture.
Jemez Springs: Our most favorite saloon in the state, Los Ojos Bar and Packaged Goods, resides in Jemez Springs. Get your red meat and bottled drink on here. And guess what, hot springs across the street. Might as well fold in some kayaking at Fenton Lake state park. Ah the good life – this trip can be a 2-day trip.
5 Day Itinerary
Moab/Canyonlands (SE Utah): You a mountain biker? You like arches? You like to beautiful vistas where the Colorado and green rivers meet? Boo yah, this trip is it. Get your camera and go all Ansel Adams – just don’t forget to share your photos with us!
Grand Canyon: Have a very Brady trip! I don’t think this trip needs any further explanation. DO IT!
Colorado: have you heard of it? Estes park? Pikes Peak (can’t take an RV up top). It’s all there. Too many attractions to note. Just no marijuana and driving!
10 Day Itinerary
Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore: A Fam2Fam renter favorite. See some granite faces – Teddy Roosevelt is our favorite. Then be Bully and head west young family, and go to Yellowstone.
California dreaming? With 10 days, the golden state is in play. San Diego? LA? Even some Micky mouse- shuttles from RV parks to Disneyland. We’re more the slow-paced type, why not go to the coast, stop for a night and wake up to the ocean and seals?
